Barnaby Smeaton

Barnaby Smeaton is a renewable energy investment professional with extensive experience across project development, infrastructure investment, and asset management in the global clean energy sector. As an advisor supporting T&A Consulting’s international outreach efforts in the United Kingdom, he contributes to foreign direct investment (FDI) engagement, market entry advisory, and industry relationship building across the UK innovation and energy ecosystem.

His professional background includes working with Ingenious Infrastructure, a private equity firm specializing in global renewable energy investments. During his tenure, he was involved in the development, construction, and acquisition of solar photovoltaic projects and contributed to investment structuring within the firm’s EIS AD team. His experience spans solar PV, concentrating solar thermal, and anaerobic digestion technologies, providing him with a strong understanding of infrastructure financing and project lifecycle management.

Barnaby has participated in several major renewable energy transactions, including the buy-side execution of a €40 million ROC solar PV deal in 2018, and has worked on portfolio-level asset divestment strategies for operational renewable infrastructure projects. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, enabling him to collaborate effectively with investors and institutions across international markets.
